Training Coordinator, CPET - Central Campus

Primary Function: Coordinate with CPET Director(s), instructors, and subject matter experts to develop and deliver CPET incumbent worker (CPET-IW) training programs and courses

Essential Job Functions:

1. Course/curriculum development for incumbent worker (CPET-IW) areas
  • Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of curriculum areas and labs.
  • Organizes training materials including course syllabi, course learning objectives, and laboratory objectives.
  • Develops or assists instructors and/or SMEs (subject matter experts) to develop training curriculum and materials.
  • Monitors condition and inventories of CPET-IW textbooks, consumable supplies, and equipment needed for courses.
  • Determines textbooks, consumable supplies, and equipment needed to support the planned courses and coordinates with the Director(s) to complete any needed purchases.
  • Coordinates with the Director(s) to create reports, processes, and procedures to report progress of and grow the CPET-IW program.

2. Course delivery
  • Assists Director(s) and instructor/SMEs with course delivery operations including planning, development, evaluation and improvement.
  • Coordinates with Director(s) to provide needed information to the CPET-IW Registration System Coordinator to enable creation of courses, registration of students, and room/lab reservations.
  • Ensures instructor and/or SME has all required resources ready and available for course delivery.
  • Loads course information into Blackboard as needed or assists instructor/SME with Blackboard preparation.
  • Assists instructor/SME as needed before, during, or after course. (Could involve some weekends/evenings as well as possible visit to off-campus course.)
  • Develops pre- and post-learning assessment tools with SME's, instructors, and Director(s).
  • Ensures course evaluations are completed and collected. Assesses adjunct teaching effectiveness by direct observation, student surveys, and client input. Provides reports and recommendations to Director(s) detailing areas of improvement.

3. Teamwork
  • Collaborates with the CPET-IW Director(s) regarding plans, course development, course delivery, and future opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the CPET-IW Registration System Coordinator as needed for course/section creation, student registrations, and reporting.
  • Collaborates with and assists instructors and SMEs as needed for course development and delivery.
  • Collaborates with CPET administrative assistants.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Strong attention to details and the ability to prepare reports
  • Working knowledge of marketing, sales, customer service, & delivery methods
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Associate degree in related technical field and two years of journey-level experience in a related technical field may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education:
  • Degree in petrochemical industry related area, or
  • Additional training or degree in petrochemical related area

Required Experience:
  • Two years of experience in developing training plans and writing curriculum

Preferred Experience:
  • Previous experience with petrochemical industry
  • Previous experience with learning management systems (Blackboard is preferable)

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
  • Certificate of Technology Level II - Process Technology

Salary Grade: 22

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
