POSITION TITLE: Technical Instructor - Konecranes Training Institute

REPORTS TO: Manager, Customer Training

The primary duty of the Technical Instructor is delivering classroom and practical instruction to Konecranes Training Institute Customers in a classroom & lab environment. The Technical Instructor also works with other colleagues to assist with instructional material development to meet the changing learning needs of the business.


  • Teach various classes in the Technical Training Curriculum in a classroom/lab setting which includes, but not limited to, standing and walking for long periods of time, and the ability to lift 40lbs.
  • Assist in developing instructional materials for the Technical Training Curriculum.
  • Administer quizzes and tests over the material presented.
  • Evaluate student performance in classroom and lab activities.
  • Serve as a resource for technical questions originating from the field.
  • Complete various clerical duties related to student performance reports.
  • Assist in safety training as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATION: Minimum of HS diploma or equivalent. Preferred Trade school degree (or equivalent education or field experience) in an industrial subject is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment or educational/training role. Preferred 5 plus years in the crane industry. Mobile crane experience a plus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion to help other individuals learn. Public speaking and classroom and lab instruction experience is a plus. This position requires extensive travel up to 75% in the US and Canada. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and TEAMs is required. Having a current CIC, NCCER or NCCCO certification in Mobile Crane operation a plus. Front line Customer Service a plus.
