The Memory Solutions Lab (MSL) mission is to develop innovative open system architectures and solutions that transform the performance of semiconductor memory in SSDs, mobile devices and data centers.


Samsung is looking for C/C++ developers experienced with distributed clusters and cloud. The Samsung Data Platform (SDP) is a distributed, scale-out data storage product for workloads that utilize unstructured data that we are evolving to support cloud scale deployments. We are looking for experienced developers with expertise in architecting, designing and developing software for a state-of-the-art distributed applications that are deployed in public or private cloud, or on-premise virtualization platforms.

The successful candidate must be a strong team player, have excellent communication skills and should have experience developing Linux-based highly available distributed systems, with a focus on performance and quality


  • Module level architecture, design & development of storage systems software
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and an eye for quality
  • Senior-level role involves significant responsibilities and requires creativity, leadership as well as passion to build high performance flash based storage systems
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers, code reviews to ensure meeting design requirements


BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 10+ years of experience developing enterprise software solutions in C/C++ on Linux.

  • Experience in developing distributed systems, file/object storage, scale-out systems
  • Experience in developing cloud (AWS/Azure) based storage systems
  • Hands on experience in storage protocols (NVMe over Fabrics, NVMe, FC, iSCSI)
  • Hands on experience in environments such as Hyper-V, VMware and containers
  • Experience in building storage technologies such as replication, erasure coding, snapshots is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding of Operation Systems concepts, I/O Subsystem, Computer Architecture
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Knowledge of file system (ext3, zfs, ntfs, etc.) internals
  • Experience in building network file systems is a plus
  • Proven record of on-time delivery of production quality software.

Language experience:

  • Must have 10+ years of C/C++ development experience for Linux.
  • Experience with C++11, C++14 and open source libraries such as Folly, Boost and Intel TBB is desired.
  • Experience working with alternate languages such as Python desired.

Open source experience:

  • Experience working with open source server-side software such as SPDK/DPDK, NVMe over Fabrics Linux drivers
  • Use of open source tools, such as gcc, git, and bugzilla, is desired.
