This position manages the preparation of the association's monthly financial statements including generation of general ledger entries, bank reconciliation, and all other monthly financial processes. This position also oversees management of the daily deposit transactions and bank deposits coming from all other departments within the association. Finally, the position is responsible for the oversight of the association's federal tax filings, and the annual financial audit - through working with outside CPA firms.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage monthly financial statement process compilation, review, and reporting/dissemination.
  • Work closely with Finance Director on the direction of the department, as well as the financial implications for the overall organization
  • Work with Finance Director on development & implementation of departmental goals and priorities, as well as monitoring staff activities and providing assistance on compliance to finance department policies and procedures.
  • Asist Finance Director in oversight of Staff Accountant position including training, and setting work schedule for the department (i.e. which tasks need to be done, and by when).
  • Manage revenue/deposit reporting from multiple internal departments and monthly bank statement reconciliation.
  • Serve as main liaison for the association for annual financial audit, including preparation of required/requested materials, and development of audit recommended policies/practices.
  • Serve as main liaison for the association for annual 990 (and State of Colorado) tax filings.
  • Co-manage (with Finance Director) the annual budgeting process assist/support other departments in constructing individual budget figures, and review.
  • Analysis of financial information to assess accuracy and completeness per departmental standards, or in response to fulfillment of internal inquiries.
  • Work in conjunction with Finance Director on generating internal budget for Finance Department operations.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the accounting/finance field.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong experience with Great Plains accounting software or comparable software.
  • Strong ability to perform standard financial reporting procedures G/L transactions, account reconciliation and journal postings.
  • Strong ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial professionals.
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent internal customer service skills.
  • Excellent multitasking ability.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to focus on one task for several consecutive hours.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, CPA a plus.

Travel Required:

  • Travel to Great American Beer Festival
  • Travel to other events or conferences as assigned.
