Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree or greater than 10 years of experience in pharmacy required.
- Current license in the State of New Jersey as a Registered Pharmacist required.
- 2-4 years pharmacy operations experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Excellent time management, organizational and team building skills required.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Pharmacy Manager is responsible pharmacy operations and execution of clinical pharmacy initiatives across the pharmacy service line and the healthcare system. This position facilitates, develops, implements and manages all activities and projects regarding the overall operation of pharmacy services. This position ensures effective recruitment, scheduling, policy and procedures, competencies and employee relations within the Pharmacy Departments.
This position also ensures standardization of systems and consistency of pharmacy service across the organization. Such systems include regulatory adherence, medication use monitoring, control dangerous substance control, payroll, workflow, and performance improvement.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and patient safety.
Position SpecificsManager of Inpatient/Outpatient Pharmacy:The Pharmacy Manager for Inpatient or Outpatient Services will ensure appropriate department oversight and regulatory compliance for each area of pharmacy service assigned.
Manager of Pharmacy Transition of Care:The PharmacyManager for Transitions of Care will ensure appropriate regulatory compliance for each area of pharmacy service assigned. This position will oversee all business models, contracts, and assessments for assigned pharmacy services, which includes collaborative practices, contract services, pharmacy satellites, Medication Therapy and Disease Management (MTM), pharmacy research, and other outpatient clinical pharmacy services.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSThe Pharmacy Manager demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential exists for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Requires the ability to work at a computer 60% of the time; requires some standing and walking.
