Payroll Specialist

CLC is looking for an experienced payroll specialist to be responsible for payroll administration, including but not limited to overseeing all aspects of payroll preparation and processing. This position requires multi-state payroll administration experience and expertise using ADP or other mainstream payroll processing software.

An ideal candidate will be able to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure strict compliance with organizational and regulatory standards as it pertains to timekeeping, tax payments, and garnishments or levies. An outstanding payroll specialist should also have excellent people skills and a high numerical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-to-end payroll processing
• Multi-state payroll tax filing and maintenance
• Employee benefit administration and support
• Unemployment claim investigation and management
• Timesheet and timesheet reporting oversight
• Accurate payroll documentation and transactions maintenance
• Preparation and distribution of year-end income statements
• Support for payroll-related inquiries and concerns
• Account balance and payroll reconciliation support
• 401(k) plan administration and support
• Financial and payroll reporting for accounting and auditing purposes

Payroll Specialist Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a multi-state payroll or a similar role
• A degree in accounting, business, or a related field may be preferred
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and payroll practices
• Experience working with payroll software, preferably ADP
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• High numerical aptitude
• Detail-oriented
• Strong Excel skills
• Other duties as assigned
