POSITION SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapy Team Leader is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician/LIP and Staff. The Occupational Therapy Team Leader utilizes the care process consistent with their license and certification including initiation of interventions within individual scope of practice. Occupational Therapy Team Leader is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. Occupational Therapy Team Leader assists with assignments based on staffing.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Licensed in the State of New Jersey. BLSHCP required.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.



PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates knowledge and clinical competency with occupational therapy assessment skills, treatment implementation, and proficiency with modalities, as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.

Requires standing much of the day and extensive amounts of assisting, support and lifting of patients. Requires the ability to lift greater than 50 pounds. Essential functions of this position are listed on the department specific Assessment and Evaluation Tool.



REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Director of Rehab Operations.
