The HR Manager role provides strategic & tactical recommendations, action, leadership, mentorship and maintenance of all Human Resources functions including but not limited to: policies, labor laws, recruiting-staffing, training educational assistance, benefits, compensation, employee relations, labor issues / disputes, activities, community service, safety, compliancy and programs within the Bestbath organization. The HR Manager is responsible for developing, designing and creating a highly performing HR Team, building effect policies, procedures, forms, processes and programs. The role is a key part of the organizational glue that binds and strengthens Bestbath's superior workplace culture and industry leading employee retention. The principal function is to manage and direct the overall staff & operations of the Human Resource Department. Organization wide (2 facilities and sales staff in numerous states) role model, holds organization to highest standards, ensures organization wide effectiveness in all matters relating to employee & employer practices & processes. Team Player: as a medium size business, we expect the HR Manager to be a working manager taking on a portion of the HR Department's daily workload. Successful employee is able to effectively work with and communicate with all customers, coworkers and vendors in a professional, courteous and succinct manner Diligent worker: is self-driven and responsible for keeping up on assigned duties without constant supervision Attention to detail: high level of accuracy, effective organizational skills, precise decision making skills



Develop strategy, make recommendations, establish and prioritize goals/objectives and for the Organization for all relevant areas of human resources to include: General Compiles reports and data on a variety of HR programs and participates in analyzing problems on issues related to a variety of HR matters; Develops recommendations, updates, maintains, and ensures compliance with the human resource policies/procedures to include and communication through the company employee handbook; Department Human Resources Reports To HR Director FLSA Status Exempt (salary) Date Revised: 2/7/23 Administers Bestbath Systems pre-employment, reasonable suspicion random & post accident chemical and substance testing programs, Responsible for drafting, prioritizing, and implementing the Human Resources budget and accountable for spend and maintain within defined budget parameters. Reviews for accuracy all associated HR program invoicing General cont. Ensures and maintains accurate and up to date employee files; Leads and manages direct reports when applicable to include intern and other administrative staff; Ensures compliance with State, Federal, ADA, FLSA, ERISA, ACA, IRS and DOL, and other Government agencies in regard to employment laws, regulations and audits. Handles State and Federal employment compliance issues and reports; Benefits Provides recommendation and works with management and vendors to develop and implement all benefit programs including insurances, educational, miscellaneous, and additional company-wide available benefits. Interfaces, monitors, and manages insurance agencies, vendors, and brokers on benefit programs, problems, issues and works with third party administers handling COBRA administration; Administers / designs company (national) health, dental, vision, 401K, life, and disability insurances, health savings & flexible spending account programs; Compensation Leads, administers, and maintains compensation program/policies for all levels of employees Implements and updates relevant programs including job titles, job descriptions, pay rates, conducts periodic salary surveys and monitors performance and revises as necessary. Makes recommendations to Compensation strategies and facilitates changes as needed Employee Relations Provides effective employee counsel and supervisors regarding HR practices, policies and procedures. Handles all internal employee relation issues by counseling and making recommendations for employees and management towards fair resolutions. Assists managers and supervisors with disciplinary actions and when necessary, terminations; Labor Relations Advises management staff on employment issues, policies, benefits, compensation, safety, labor, legal issues and programs. Date Revised: 2/7/23 Monitors and interprets changes in employment law and regulations and communicates to management the changes and new developments. Employee Development Provides strategy and implements performance management system to facilitate growth of company employees and foster a productive manager/employee relationship Facilitates or prepares performance evaluations, hires, terminates, and disciplines staff as necessary; Partners with Director of Continuous Improvement, LEAN and Corp Training Staffing Management Manages the internal and external recruitment full life cycle process from strategic staffing through on-boarding; Conducts new hire orientation /onboarding, background checks & exit interviews, Safety & Security Manages safety training programs, overall plant safety and occupational health matters Leads compliancy efforts and reporting to meet all state & federal regulatory laws and requirements. Job Specifications, Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Work is performed primarily in an office environment with moderate noise level. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources PHR or SPHR certification desirable 3 6 years' Human Resource Generalist experience with emphasis in employment law, recruitment and selection, compensation, benefits, EEO reporting, training, workers compensation and labor relations Bilingual English / Spanish is highly preferred Must have thorough knowledge of human resources practices/procedures, department policies/procedures, general office practices and procedures Must have strong practitioner skills in benefits design, administration, workers compensation, technical writing, investigations, thorough knowledge in EEO/AA, compensation practices, job analysis and classification Must have strong working knowledge of employment law, conflict resolution, strategic management/planning, benefit administration, workers' compensation, hiring practices/skills in interviewing, drug testing programs, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA, and DOL regulations Must have proven leadership, departmental development performance coaching / mentoring, communication, delegation, customer service, and public speaking skills Must be detailed oriented and have empathetic listening skills Date Revised: 2/7/23 Must have demonstrated maturity, confidentiality, and a high degree of follow through and professionalism Must have knowledge and skills using Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). Knowledge with ERP and HRIS systems prefer NetSuite & Paylocity. Be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate good judgment and initiative, to understand, interpret and apply rules and regulations. Make sound decisions and be able to maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations Establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, supervisors, co-workers, the general public and display an attitude of cooperation. Handle complaints skillfully and respectfully Interpret and apply State & Federal laws related to human resources issues Work and deal with a wide range of individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds Work as a team player and collaborate with others Work Environment & Physical Demands Work is performed primarily in an office environment with moderate noise level. The employee in this class is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Position requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks: Constantly requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours and ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Constantly requires clarity of speech and hearing, which permits the employee to communicate effectively. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screen to accomplish work. Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
