Job Description:

An integral member of IIE's Communications Team, the Graphic Designer leads and coordinates all aspects of the organization's creative, branding, graphic design, and production needs. This role provides creative design and content solutions for IIE's corporate, philanthropic, programmatic, and general communications needs. Working closely with the Creative Director, the Graphic Designer supports colleagues across the organization by developing solid print and digital communications materials that consistently support IIE's strategic goals and maintain IIE's brand identity throughout.

Essential Functions:

Design social media and digital graphics, marketing sheets, reports, publication covers, event graphics and other IIE branded communications and marketing collateral along with presentation materials for IIE corporate, program development and fundraising initiatives
Receive all incoming graphic design requests and manage multiple projects with tight turnaround times in close coordination with Creative Director and Communications colleagues
Support occasional branding and logo development of new IIE programs and initiatives
Work closely with Creative Director and Communications team in conceptualizing and executing integrated communications campaigns that align with organization's strategic goals
Maintain and update IIE branded templates, graphics, and outreach materials on IIE's intranet
Provide support in Branding & Creative team member trainings and webinars
Prepare files for print production and coordinate with printers and other vendors as needed to ensure print quality and output
Produce short motion graphics for social media along with occasional video filming, photography and editing support
Support procurement and coordination of contracted photographers, videographers, and other preferred creative vendors
Provide design feedback, image sourcing and related support for IIE corporate website
Source and edit image assets for digital and print use and provide support in uploading images to IIE's digital asset management system
Ensure correct brand usage on all materials and review materials developed by colleagues and external creative vendors for brand alignment as needed
Keep on top of new design technologies and trends, making recommendations and suggestions for creative solutions for implementation where appropriate

The Institute of International Education ("IIE") has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants are required to include a PDF portfolio or web link showcasing their design work to be considered for this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Solid experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud software (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects) along with MS Office.
Strong understanding of typography, layout, print production, and brand consistency.
Ability to organize and manage a varying volume of print and digital design work under tight time constraints and pressures.
Basic video editing and motiongraphic development experience preferred.
Strong writing and communications skills for the non-profit sector a plus.

Salary Range: $60,547 - $70,386. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
