Position Overview Roux's office in Islandia, New York is looking to add a GIS Analyst to utilize GIS software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, those outlined below. In this position, you will have the opportunity for technical development and professional growth. As a GIS Analyst, you will provide technical support to the Islandia (NY) office and to other Roux offices, as needed. Position allows for hybrid schedule with flexibility for in-office and remote workdays.
Position Requirements - Bachelor's degree or higher
- Utilize GIS software to produce, display, and analyze geographic information
- Create, organize, manipulate, and retrieve environmental data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes
- Perform quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components
- Analyze topographic, environmental, demographic and land use data using GIS to support project decisions;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical judgment and problem-solving capabilities
- High initiative, good interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure within tight schedules
Preferred - Enterprise database software experience - EQuIS MS SQL Server, and/or MS Access
- Experience in the environmental field with emphasis on environmental data management
Essential Duties - Import and query large data sets, examining data, and filtering for targeted information
- Collect and configure large datasets to meet project specifications
- QA/QC of data and final deliverables;
- Formatting, logging and archiving of figures and files within the Roux system;
- Organize and manage the NY Office ArcGIS database and standard Roux templates;
- Provide the lead on GIS design and procedures;
- Analyzing topographic, environmental, demographic and land use data using ArcGIS to support project decisions; and
- Maintain expertise in existing and emerging GIS asset management related software and technologies.
