The Director of Finance will be responsible for leading the financial activities for the BU and will act as a key thought partner to the Oral Care VP & GM and other members of the BU leadership team.
  • Provides financial leadership to the business unit, providing both strategic and operational guidance to the GM, BU leadership team, and functional managers. Partners in executing strategies of growth and enhanced profitability, ensuring maximized cost savings and revenue opportunities.
  • Works closely with CSCA and Corporate Finance leadership to drive functional, regional, and global Finance initiatives.
  • Acts as key business partner to the BU Operations/Plant leader, assisting him/her with overall plant/business analysis, performance, and key success metrics for the plant(s) under his/her responsibility.
  • Identifies and drives analyses around operational effectiveness and business performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Prioritize financial and operational metrics, assess root causes for issues and possible actions. Implement and execute consistent operating metrics across the plant(s).
  • Assumes overall leadership of the day-to-day financial and control operations for the BU, including financial reporting that will meet external SEC and other government reporting requirements, planning and analysis, internal controls, budgeting/modeling, audit execution in compliance with relevant Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, compliance execution, and integration of business systems.
  • Leads BU finance due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Manages BU finance team and takes a proactive role in talent acquisition, career development, and retention.
  • Directs preparation of capital expenditure requests, including support for Global Resource Allocation Committee (GRAC) approvals and proper accounting of the related investments.
  • Uncovers and drives both short-term and long-term cost savings and revenue opportunities across the BU.
  • Utilizes information systems for financial analysis and financial reporting.
  • Ensures proper internal controls aligned with Minimum Control Standards (MCS) are in place at each facility.

What You Need to Succeed in This Position:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance required, MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years experience working in a finance function; with a proven track record of at least five years experience in senior finance positions including financial leadership.
  • Strong customer focus orientation (Founders Mentality), holding yourself and others accountable for delivering with a bias for speed in decision making to deliver for our retail customer.
  • Requires excellent computer skills in Microsoft products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with one or more ERP systems. Knowledge of and experience in SAP, Hyperion and Crystal Reports strongly preferred.

  • Strong grasp of core financial concepts, including accounting, budgeting, revenue recognition, financial modeling, and forecasting.
  • Experience in a high growth, multi-site, globally disbursed, distribution/manufacturing BU.
  • Ability to identify financial and operational control issues and drive changes to build a robust and efficient control environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including effective written, oral and presentation skills necessary to effectively convey information to and/or influence a wide range of audiences, including all levels within the company as well as third parties.
  • Experience with due diligence and post-acquisition integration is viewed as a significant plus given the acquisitive history of the business.
