The Director of Student Conduct is responsible for the oversight and administration of the University's student conduct system and student conduct office, which includes selecting and training hearing officers, adjudicating high level cases including Title IX cases, assigning charges for administrative hearings, training and working directly with Student Life Assistant Directors to adjudicate and manage the student conduct cases in their areas, and management of the student conduct database software. The Director provides support for compliance, including the Clery Act and the annual security report and produces detailed reports about the student conduct process.

The Director also provides direct supervision to one Assistant Director and provides training, guidance, support, and feedback to the Student Life staff members and divisional partners who serve as hearing officers. The Director serves as a senior member of the on-call system, in partnership with Student Life staff members. The Director reports directly to the Vice President and Dean of Students.

Primary Job Responsibilities include: oversight and administration of the University student conduct system. Oversee the editing, revision, and production of the Community Standards. Train, recruit, and select hearing officers from the Division of Student Development and across the University. Adjudicate and manage caseload of high-level cases and serious violations of the Community Standards. This includes adjudicating Title IX cases referred by the deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students. Partner with Public Safety to assist in the coordination of investigations and conduct investigations of student conduct matters. Assign charges for administrative hearing and assign cases to appropriate hearing officers. Hear appeals of violations of the Community Standards. Partner with the Director of Student Life regarding the implementation of the Community Standards.

Provide data for the Annual Security and Fire Report as required by the Clery Act. Produce monthly, semester, annual, and as-needed reports about the student conduct process. Provide educational outreach programs to the University community regarding the Community Standards and the student conduct process. Manage the student conduct database software, serve as the primary liaison with Technology Services and the student conduct database vendor.
Provide supervision and crisis response, directly supervise one Assistant Director of Student Conduct. Indirectly supervise and provide training, guidance, support, and feedback to the Assistant Directors of Student Life in their role as hearing officers. Partner with the Director of Student Life and collaborate to support the residential experience of Loyola students.
The student conduct system includes training and support for the University Board on Discipline, which is comprised of faculty, students, and administrators, along with the Peer Conduct Board, which is comprised of students. The University Community Standards govern behavior both on and off campus. Loyola is a primarily residential campus, with approximately 80% of students living on campus for all four years.
