Description:

The Director of Business Development assists with the development of a comprehensive business development strategy, identifies top-target clients and generates new business that aligns with organizational value capabilities. Generates and reports on executed business development opportunities per the business plan.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development:

  • Presents the integrated value proposition to achieve optimum brand awareness and market penetration.?
  • Provides counsel to evaluate target clients to develop and execute convincing business development strategies.
  • Develops strong internal and external client relationships; builds extensive professional network. .
  • Develops and implements business development strategy, including scope of work in concert with the VP Business Development, SVP, and/or Project Executive.

Prospecting:

  • Maintains market knowledge and keeps leadership apprised of potential markets, clients & projects, competitors, and market conditions.
  • Strategizes networks and secures meetings with key targeted decision makers.
  • Approaches, engages, presents, and persuades prospects for high value business decisions.
  • Engages in market development tactics.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Maintains strong business network and ongoing client relationships post project start-up.
  • Schedules meetings with clients to uncover project opportunities.
Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Certifications and/or Licenses:? None required

Relevant Experience & Training:

  • 7 or more years' A/E/C business development experience in healthcare systems; experience working with Integrated Delivery Systems including planning, finance, facility construction, and facility management preferred.
  • 7 or more years' experience selling capital budget related goods and high value services to decision makers in healthcare; conversational proficiency in selling design, engineering, and/or design-build contracts.
  • Successful track record selling high value services with multiple decision-making levels in the healthcare marketplace; departmental, hospital executives and corporate; conversational proficiency in real estate development, construction or management in the healthcare marketplace preferred.
  • Knowledge of key issues and needs facing the healthcare industry that can be addressed by facility and operational planning, design and construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team, but thrives independently as a strategist, needing little daily oversight, driven internally by success.
  • Demonstrated ability to dialogue with executives, to gain an understanding of what it takes for a decision to be a good business for them and their organization.
  • Track record of satisfied clients, both new and existing clients.
  • History of goal setting and goal achievement.
  • Must invest the first 12 weeks on the job to the company on-boarding process and complete plan, including initiating some business development conversations with prospects and clients.
  • Travel regionally and nationally up to 40% of the time.
  • Productive and effective, communicating with team members, network, and prospects digitally; proficient in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including proposal preparation and presentation skills.
  • General knowledge of market analysis and marketing.
