This is a remote position, but has the option of working from our Cambridge, Massachusetts office, which is accessible by public transportation.

What Were Looking For

Were seeking a full-time Data Quality Analyst to join our data management and quality assurance team, part of our larger Population Health research team. Youll be responsible for the review of data for outliers and inconsistencies, youll assist in creating dynamic data visualizations and reports to improve the quality of incoming and processed data, and youll assist in the release of data to improve services and systems and inform policy decisions. Interest in the health care and public health field and working with health care insurance claims data is essential.

Were looking for an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, and someone who listens and contributes to a sharing of diverse perspectives. The ideal candidate is someone who can communicate complex health insurance claims information to a non-analyst audience both in meetings and in writing; who manages work across multiple timelines; and who develops and maintains detailed quality health care claims information to communicate to clients, data users, and coworkers.

Due to the nature of this workinvolving large datasetssecure, reliable access to the internet is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and ad hoc data quality checks on incoming data and quality control checks for reports, data extracts, and dashboards; convey identified issues in a clear and concise wayboth to programmers to facilitate solutions and to the nontechnical business staff at organizations that submit the data (to improve quality of the incoming data)
• Manage documentation on data quality checks and procedures in accordance with internal standards and guidelines
• Run routine data quality checks and identifies issues to communicate to the engineering team, clients, and data submitters.
• Create processes and procedures for identifying and tracking data quality issues and version control
• Prepare and present summary data quality reports
• Design, implement, and maintain data quality visualizations: scorecards, dashboards, reports
• Engage and present information to coworkers, clients, and data submitters

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS in a business, public health, economics, or social science discipline with a minimum of 2 to 4 years' experience with health information
• Experience analyzing commercial, Medicare, and/or Medicaid medical, dental, and/or behavioral health claims
• Intermediate SQL experience
• Basic experience creating data visualizations in Tableau or other similar software
• Attention to detail and strong commitment to high-quality work
• Analytical with strong problem-solving focus and ability to convey issues and solutions both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to execute complex analytic tasks and convey technical issues/problems succinctly and efficiently to the rest of the team
• Ability to work across projects with multiple timelines and clarify ambiguities as they arise
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

• Masters in a business, public health, economics, or social science discipline with an emphasis in public health or statistics, and at least one year of professional experience in quantitative research
• Intermediate experience creating data visualizations in Tableau
• Advanced SQL experience
• Basic to Intermediate SAS, SPSS, R or Stata or Python

Hours

Full-time 40 hours / non-standard work hours. Overtime is occasionally needed.

$62,827 - $85,000
