Position Summary

This position will serve to provide CLEAR researchers support in the conduct or human subjects research studies and will also assist with applications for and subsequent administrative management of grants supporting CLEAR research

RFU is nationally recognized for its research in areas including neuroscience, brain-related diseases, inherited disorders, proteomics, cancer cell biology and immunology, cardiac resuscitation, and gait and balance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify and enroll participants into research trials
  • Manage subject scheduling
  • Assist investigators with study subject visits
  • Assist with completion/maintenance of study related documents such as: source documents, case report forms and regulatory documents
  • Responsible for oversight and procurement of clinical supplies
  • Responsible for monitoring clinical trial budgets and invoicing sponsors as appropriate
  • Establishing agreements with non-Rosalind Franklin University Health System clinical entities for specialized services (e.g. specialty imaging)
  • Facilitate site inspection and monitor/auditor visits by industry and government representatives
  • Responsible for data mining of existing databases
  • Serve as a liaison between the study team and Institutional Review Boards & Rosalind Franklin Universitys Office of Sponsored Research
  • Identify potential funding opportunities for CLEAR researchers
  • Assist with the completion/compilation of materials for grant proposals
  • Assist with oversight of funded projects according to local (RFUMS) and funding agency requirements/guidelines

Required Education & Experience
  • Completion of a post high school educational program in a medical or science field (ex. medical assistant, nursing degree, bachelor of science)
  • 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Must achieve satisfactory results from a background check
  • Must have proof of COVID 19 vaccination or a university approved exemption

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Capacity to comprehend and recall clinical protocol procedures
  • Must be comfortable working on wound related clinical trials
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple concurrent deadlines
  • Exceptional skills in written, telephone and personal communications
  • Is innovative and self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong, positive work ethic; high level integrity
  • Editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, (spreadsheet analysis, word processing, database management, graphics and presentation software)
  • Ability to collect, compile and organize facts, figures, etc. and triage information to identify appropriate persons for contact and follow through
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; make timely decisions; determine priorities
  • Ability to show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; work/interact with a variety of internal and external constituents

Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled in collecting vital signs and blood samples
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Certification from an accrediting body in the conduct of clinical research is preferred. If hired candidate is not certified, it is expected that they apply for certification once they have worked the requisite hours required to apply for certification.
  • Experience working with Adobe products
