ABOUT THIS ROLE

BerlinRosen is seeking an experienced communications strategist to join our Cities, Real Estate and Culture practice as a Vice President. In this role, you will counsel clients across our practice through comprehensive communications strategies that advance client goals, mentor and manage junior staff, and actively engage in business development. As a core leader of the team, you should thrive in a fast paced environment, demonstrate thoughtfulness in creating a collaborative culture, and have expertise on team capacity planning and business development.

This position provides candidates with a unique opportunity to join a talented and growing team working on an exciting mix of projects and issues facing the future of New York and cities around the country -- land use and urban planning, architecture and design, supportive, affordable and market-rate housing, economic development, health care, hospitality, and arts and culture. This team works with industry leaders, award-winning institutions and global innovators including SL Green and Brookfield Properties, 92Y and Lincoln Center, Ennead and Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, Breaking Ground and Regional Plan Association, Northwell Health and the New York Proton Center, Waldorf Astoria New York and the Wythe Hotel.

Note: BerlinRosen is remote through at least April, 2021. This role will be based in New York City when we return to our offices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As a Vice President on our Real Estate and Cities team, you will...

• Set and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile clients
• Develop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals
• Engage and maintain strong relationships with key reporters
• Write and edit persuasive external and internal documents such as press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, talking points, editorial board memos, and communications plans
• Mentor and lead staff through consistent feedback, monitoring results and supporting professional growth
• Drive business development and lead RFP responses

Our ideal candidate has/is a(n). . .

• 7+ years of experience in strategic communications in relevant companies (building cities physically and culturally), media or journalism covering relevant sectors; PR agency experience preferred
• Thoughtful people manager: youve led diverse and inclusive teams and know how to support professional growth through individualized techniques
• Creative problem-solving approach to strategies: each client has a specific history and goal, your strategies take their uniqueness into consideration
• Exceptional client-service skills: you do what it takes to make each client feel like your highest priority
• Strong written and oral communications skills: you are a highly skilled writer with impeccable editing eyes and skillfully adapt your presentation style depending on your audience
• Expert multi-tasker: you have the ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details
