Seven Stars Bakery is looking for positive, enthusiastic individuals to join our team. You will be working with a top-tier cafe team, in a fun and casual environment. You should be ready to manage a staff of 15+ front of house members in all aspects of customer service and operations. You will be training new staff members on their daily functions, ensuring cleanliness and regular maintenance of the store. Additionally, you will create staff work schedules, as well as manage inventory for packaging and store equipment and materials. This position will require you to set the tone and pace for the store, complete a daily cash count after every shift, and facilitate the daily operations of the cafe. You will be responsible for creating production pars based on estimates, on a weekly basis, continually completing quality control checks of products and communicating with the production bakery. You will also assist with promotional event planning, respond to customer inquiries, and handle guest compliments and complaints. Cafe Managers organize daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.

To be successful in this role you should demonstrate exemplary leadership and management skills and ensure that caf staff carries out duties efficiently. Also, you should be available to work during opening hours, including early mornings, weekends and holidays. Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and ensure that our caf is a welcome gathering place in the community!


3-5 Years of Leadership experience in bakery/cafe/restaurant or retail industry, required

Education: High School Diploma. Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Management or related field, preferred.


  • Have early morning, closing, holidays, and weekend availability as required
  • Must have a working cell phone and email account and be able to respond to calls, texts, and emails in a timely manner
  • Computer literacy; experience with G Suite and Global Bake a plus
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to delegate and lead by example
  • Performs well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment, which includes time management
  • Ability to clearly communicate with your team and within a team of managers

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and maintain high standards of Seven Stars Bakery including; customer service coffee brewing standards, product quality, and store cleanliness
  • Know and utilize the Seven Stars Service Standards
  • Hire and train staff according to the Seven Stars Service Standards
  • Provide Sr. Cafe Manager with feedback for all staff performance reviews
  • Administer written warnings and records of conversation with employees for policy infractions
  • Ensure all shifts are covered. If a staff member calls out and is not covered by another employee it is the Managers responsibility to ensure that it is covered.
  • Maintenance of the building. This includes ensuring that the outside area is swept, shoveled (seasonally), and free of trash and debris. Ensure that the inside of the store is dust free, shelves are organized and stocked, floors are swept, and overall presentation of the store.
  • Make appropriate service calls if repairs are needed, and alerting the General Manager or Maintenance manager of repairs
  • Ordering products and maintaining inventory levels. Exact responsibilities in this area are up to the store managers discretion.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of shift including; assigning registers, handling customer complaints, processing transaction voids, assigning side work and cleaning tasks, assigning breaks and managing shift change.
  • Using Hot Schedules Log Book as a communication tool for both daily shift notes and special holiday information as well as personnel notes
  • When opening: ensure that the store is opened on time, help complete opening tasks as needed.
  • When closing: ensure that the store closing is completed efficiently. Manage pre-close and assign closing tasks, and ensure that customers are still being helped.
  • Complete day-to-day money management. This includes:
  • Providing staff with change
  • Calculating tips from prior day and distributing to staff
  • Count petty cash and confirm balances
  • Confirm drawers are at $300 and change out for next day
  • Calculate daily deposits and complete all paperwork as required
  • Make daily trips to the bank to make a deposit, pick up deposit slips and get change as needed
