Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant area required.
* PHR/SPHR, SHRP-CP/SHRM-SCP, or CEBS Certification required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
* 4+ years of experience with employer sponsored benefits or insurance industry required.
* Requires a high degree of expertise with Excel and Report Writing required.
* Excellent written communication skills required.
* Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of COBRA, ERISA, ACA, PPACA, and other benefit legislation required.



POSITION SUMMARY
The Benefits Analyst is responsible for keeping AtlantiCare compliant and up to date with Benefit trends. This includes conducting audits across all benefit plans, making benefit design recommendations that keeps AtlantiCare competitive and providing benefit support to all business units within AtlantiCare to meet their established goals and objectives.



In this role, the Benefits Analyst will assist with the review and updating of SPD's, plan design changes in the benefits administration System and HR Benefits Portal. This position also works with vendors to ensure compliance to established contracts and regulatory filings including plan testing and audits as required. The Benefits Analyst responds to vendors questions and concerns in a timely manner and acts as a liaison between vendors and/or vendors and employees.



The Benefits Analyst works closely with the benefits administration system to ensure proper assignment and administration of the company benefits programs. This includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, vision, prescription, COBRA, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long term disability, voluntary offerings and retirement savings programs. In addition, the Benefits Analyst handles all inquiries from employees in regard to their claims including payment and or deductible disputes.



The Benefits Analyst demonstrates flexibility and commitment for multiple projects in a fast paced environment. This position functions both independently and closely with the team. The Benefits Analyst may participate in New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment planning, employee communications, process improvement efforts, premium analysis, market surveys, wellness initiatives and other projects.



This position will work with the HRIS teams to ensure systems and MyADP are programmed appropriately and on time in preparation for benefit related events.



This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.



QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant area required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: PHR/SPHR, SHRP-CP/SHRM-SCP, or CEBS Certification required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer.
EXPERIENCE: 4+ years of experience with employer sponsored benefits or insurance industry required. Requires a high degree of expertise with Excel and Report Writing. Excellent written communication skills required. Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of COBRA, ERISA, ACA, PPACA, and other benefit legislation required.
