POSITION SUMMARYThe APG Safety Coordinator performs all related duties necessary to ensure the safety of all patients, staff, visitors, buildings, utilities and equipment. Ensures medical practice office compliance on Environment of Care activities, policies and procedures. The APG Safety Coordinator supports compliance with all non-clinical codes and regulatory standards, such as NJ DOH.
The APG Safety Coordinator devotes attention to Environment of Care principles such as safety, regulated medical waste, hazardous materials, life safety, and emergency preparedness. Communicates and provides recommendations to site and senior APG leadership for accountability. Provides education to staff.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement activities and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION: Associate's Degree in related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid NJ Driver's License required.
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years supervisory experience in medical practice office setting required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, project management skills, interpersonal and organization skills required.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSDemonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENTPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the healthcare environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires travel, sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day, with frequent walking and standing.
